A really good concealer is my no.1 must-have makeup item. Whether it be for concealing under eye circles or just hyperpigmentation, most days I feel like I can get away with painting my face with a good concealer and I’m done.
So, I thought I’d share the ones I’ve loved in the year of 2017! Mind you most of these I’ve used since 2005 or whenever I finally discovered makeup!
This has been one of my all-time favourite concealers, mainly because of the huge colour selection but also because it’s easy to blend, it doesn’t crease under the eyes and stays on all day!
This might not come as a surprise because of its HG (holy grail) status amongst beauty gurus. Like the name would suggest, it’s super creamy, highly pigmented and blends in like a dream. Only downside: the colour selection isn’t so wide.
Hands down the most hyped concealer of all time (mind you, it does live up to the hype!). Its super pigmented and is heavier (thicker in consistency) than the previous two, meaning it also covers more. Comes in a good colour selection but it harder to get hold of if you live in the UK.
An oldie but a goodie! My favourite and most reliable, handy, affordable and easy to use high street concealer! If I’ve had a good nights’ sleep, and I’m having a good day, 9 times out of 10, I’m wearing this alone with a bit of mascara!
Again, the only downside to this concealer is that it comes in such a limited shade range that girls with a deeper skin tone will find it hard to get colour matched.
Another Drugstore Goodie! This offers thicker and more coverage than the Maybelline Age rewind and stays put all day! Only comes in about 4 shades, which is a shame! This means deeper skin tones miss out again!
This is the only solid /concealer in a pot that I have, and I absolutely love it! It was my first that I ever used, and it still has its place in my makeup collection. Its thick and covers just about everything. It does have a tendency to crease so needs to be set with a powder. I love using it as a corrector concealer or for simple spot concealing.
Finally my “big guns” concealer. This product can be used on its own as a heavy duty concealer or as a foundation when mixed with your moisturizer to create the perfect tinted moisturizer. This baby is so high performance you literally need the tiniest amount of this stuff to cover a large surface area. It’s the concealer the makeup artist used on my wedding day; It stayed all day, didn’t sink into my fine lines and looked amazing in photographs. Comes in a really good shade range, but downside – it’s expensive!
There you have it! My faves!
If you have any other faves please be sure to mention them in the comments down below. My philosophy is that you can never have too many concealers!
